Children's Assessment Center
The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC) protects and assists child victims of suspected sexual assault in a child sensitive environment. A multi-disciplinary team consisting of interview specialists, law enforcement, children’s protective services, medical staff and mental health staff respond to allegation of sexual abuse and provide all of the services needed by a child who may have been sexually abused. In addition to services provided when a report is made regarding allegations of sexual abuse, an Assessment Counselor is available to talk with parents and provide services to parents and children when a child is displaying behaviors that may be suspicious of sexual abuse. Parents can call the CAC and talk with a counselor to discuss their concerns.
